No sport is bigger in Gloucestershire than Rugby Union. And no club is more important in this rugby mad county than Gloucester RFC.

Third in the Allied Dunbar Premiership last season, Gloucester are leading the way in the Premiership this year. Now in the European Cup competition, too, the 'Cherry and Whites' are the county's sporting ambassadors.

John Hawkins has been covering Gloucester's games at their famous Kingsholm ground for 30 years - commentating on radio and writing match reports for major Sunday and Daily newspapers.
